Since last December, Udine’s Industrial Zone (Ziu) has had a new access road, which via a roundabout connects it directly to Udine’s southern bypass.
A long-awaited and necessary work with a total cost of EUR 1.8 million. Long-awaited and necessary – this was also emphasised by the authorities who attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony – because it meets the needs of a production area of over 5.2 million square metres, in which there are 149 companies, employing 4,625 people and developing a turnover of 2.87 billion euro. And we know: for an industrial area, fast connections to the main communication routes are vital for its development.
The work has been entrusted to Battistella spa, a company from Pasiano di Pordenone that has been working in public construction, street furniture, road infrastructure, hydraulic and environmental works (green areas, soil modelling, water regulation and forest restoration) since 1958. It is a long-established company, which has long relied on Salomoni – the Hitachi dealer for Friuli Venezia Giulia and the provinces of Venice, Belluno and Treviso – to provide it with a fleet of technologically modern and efficient machinery: the latest purchase in 2024 is the ZX135US-7 three-piece crawler excavator, which has been added to the fleet of ZX240-6, ZX150W-7, ZX85USB-6, ZX48U-6 and ZX38U-6 models. At the Udine site, the vehicles used by Battistella were the ZX240-6, ZX85USB-B, ZX48U-6 crawler excavators and the ZX150W-7 wheeled excavator. The latter model is currently being used in the municipality of Caneva (Pordenone) – characterised by countryside, natural areas and rural villages – in maintenance and re-calibration works on the minor network of watercourses connected to the Grava torrent and the Rosta stream, to restore water containment capacity. “The recent purchase of the ZX135US-7 triplex has strengthened the already solid relationship between the two companies, based – emphasises Diego Zaupa, site manager of Battistella spa – on high quality machines, a punctual, efficient service, and always focused on achieving results“.
